Women’s Basketball Faces Mountaineers, Mavericks at Whalen

UPCOMING GAMES
The Fort Lewis College women's basketball team returns home this Friday and Saturday against Western State Colorado University and Colorado Mesa University to start a four game home stand. Tip-off starts at 5:30 p.m. each night.
 
NOTES
The Skyhawks enter the weekend tied for the fifth best league record.  FLC is 11-6 in RMAC games and 16-6 overall. 
 
Fort Lewis is coming off of a road split recording a win against New Mexico Highlands University (74-58) and a loss at No. 3 Colorado State University–Pueblo (66-50).
 
Shelby Patterson led the way for the Skyhawks in the road victory against NMHU recording 16 points. Alyssa Yocky and Kayla Herrera also added 14 points for Fort Lewis.
 
Herrera was the only player to score in double figures against CSU-Pueblo for the Skyhawks, recording 13 points in the road loss.
 
Briana Clah leads Fort Lewis in scoring with an average of 14.1 points per game, which ranks eighth in the RMAC. Clah is fifth in the conference for assists, averaging 3.5 per game.
                                                                                                
Ande Lampert has rejected 1.3 shots per game in 22 games which is the third most blocked shot average in the RMAC.
 
Alyssa Yocky has grabbed the second most rebounds in the league. She is averaging 9.1 rebounds per game.
 
Fort Lewis owns the best three-point field goal defense percentage (26.1 percent) and the second best field goal percentage defense (34.5 percent) in the RMAC. The Skyhawks are fourth in the league for scoring offense, averaging 68.1 points per game this season.
 
SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
Western State Colorado University is 13th in the league standings with a 4-13 record.  The Mountaineers are 5-16 overall and 2-7 on the road.
 
Friday's meeting will be the second meeting between the two after Fort Lewis College pulled out a 56-39 road victory against the Mountaineers earlier in the season.
 
Harlie Williams leads the Mountaineers in scoring (7.9 points per game), rebounding (4.4 per game), and assists (1.5 per game).
 
Western State averages 51.1 points per game this season, which is the fewest in the league.
 
SCOUTING THE MAVERICKS
Colorado Mesa University is second in the league with a 13-4 record. The Mavericks are 16-5 overall and 7-3 on the road this season.
 
Saturday's meeting will be the second meeting of the year between the two programs. CMU earned a home victory with a 58-54 win against the Skyhawks earlier in the year.
 
The top scorer in the league hails from Colorado Mesa University. Bryanna Adams averages 18.4 points per game. Adams also leads the league in three-point field goals made (68) and three-point field goal percentage (43.3 percent).
 
Ma'ata Epenisa leads the RMAC in field goal percentage shooting 68.1 percent from the floor.
 
CMU is first in the league in assists per game (15.4), assist/turnover ratio (1.1), and three-point field goals made per game (8.5). The Mavericks also rank second in the RMAC in scoring offense (71.6 per game), scoring margin (plus 10.7), and field goal percentage (42.2 percent).

Fort Lewis College will continue their home stand against Colorado School of Mines on Feb. 17.
