Box Score 2 GOODWELL, Okla. – September 1, 2017 – The Fort Lewis College volleyball team started their season with two wins on Friday against Jarvis Christian College (W, 3-0) and University of Science and Arts (W, 3-0).
In the opening match, FLC held JCC to no more than 13 points in a set, winning by scores of 25-13, 25-9 and 25-12.
Bailey Longacre led all players with nine kills.
Hannah Martinez was perfect from the net, recording six kills on six attempts. Martinez also added two aces, one block and five digs.
Laine Waters and
Maddie LeBlanc each accounted for six kills. LeBlanc blocked four attempts on JCC. On 13 attempts,
Emily Dellenbach notched five kills without an error.
Kendra Swackenberg posted 31 assists and added three aces.
Megan Graefe led both teams with seven digs.
FLC served up 13 aces with
Elise Hill and
Katherine Potter each tallying four aces.
The Skyhawks posted a .426 hitting percentage at the net after putting down 36 kills on 68 attempts (seven errors). FLC's defense held JCC to 16 kills and a -.062 hitting mark.
Statistics against University of Science and Arts are not available.
FLC will face host school Oklahoma Panhandle State on Saturday at 11 a.m., and Northwestern Oklahoma State at 3 p.m.
