COLORADO SPRINGS – September 15, 2017 – For the third time in five games, the Fort Lewis College men's soccer team drew a tie. FLC posted a 1-1 double overtime result at University of Colorado Colorado Springs Friday night. With the tie, FLC is 0-2-3 overall and 0-0-1 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference matches.
UCCS grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 66
th minute on Luke White's goal.
Landon Gibson knotted the game five minutes later at 71:10 after finding the back of the net from 10 yards out. The goal was Gibson's first collegiate career goal, and the second goal scored by FLC this season.
Both teams were even on shots on goal, tallying seven each. UCCS edged FLC in shot attempts, 15-14, and corner kicks, 11-10.
Peter Byrne made six saves in goal in 110 minutes of action.
Ryan Lee led FLC with four shot attempts and three on goal.
The Skyhawks will travel to Colorado State-Pueblo for a 2:30 p.m. match.
