TAOS, N.M. – September 17, 2017 – The Fort Lewis College women's soccer team charted their first win of the season Sunday afternoon with a 1-0 decision against New Mexico Highlands University in Taos, N.M.

Jimmy Hall. "We came out ready to play. We moved the ball well in the first half. Cooper (
Alicia Sanchez) and Jess Singletary paired up well.
Mia Castaneda played the ball well to Jess who took a touch pass around the goalie and defender to score.
Ali Miller made important saves today. She had a great weekend in goal."
Singleton's game-winning goal was scored at 8:24 in the first half from
Jenna Brown's and Castaneda's assist.
The Skyhawks were doubled up on shots, 18-9. Brown led FLC with three shot attempts.
Miller made seven saves in goal for her first shutout of the season.
The win moves FLC to 1-3-1 overall and 1-1-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
The Skyhawks will return home to play host to Regis University on Friday at 1 p.m., and MSU Denver on Sept. 24 at 12 p.m.
