GOLDEN, Colo. – February 16, 2018 – The Fort Lewis College women's basketball team lost a four-point decision Friday night at Colorado School of Mines, 57-53.
The set-back puts the Skyhawks at 19-7 on the season and 13-7 in league games. CSM improves to 16-9 overall and 13-6 in the RMAC.
FLC held an eight-point lead with 3:53 left in the fourth quarter, but the Skyhawks were outscored the remainder of the game, 13-1. The Orediggers hit four layups as part of their 13-1 run, and blocked a Skyhawks shot with 17 seconds left in the game.
FLC was led by
Astrea Reed's 16 points. Reed made 6-of-17 field goals, 2-of-3 three-pointers and 2-of-4 free throws. Reed added three blocked shots and six rebounds.
The Skyhawks started the game shooting 44.4 percent from the floor in the first half, but were held to an 18.8 mark in the second half. FLC trailed by one point at the half, 30-29, and were outscored in the second half, 27-24, including 19-9 in the final stanza.
CSM was led by Emily Bailey's 17 points, and Nicole Archambeau's double-double (10 points, 12 rebounds).
FLC will play their final road game of the regular season on Tuesday, Feb. 20 at Adams State University.
