DURANGO, Colo. – Skyhawks Athletics closed out the year in style with a record-breaking third-annual Skyhawks Club Casino Night, capping an extraordinary 12 months of growth, engagement, and impact.

"I'm incredibly proud of our coaches and staff for their commitment to our external goals," said Director of Athletics, Travis Whipple. "This has been a complete team effort. I also want to thank the FLC Foundation for being such an outstanding partner in this important work."

Casino Night has quickly become one of the region's premier social events—blending high-energy competition with a mission to support student-athlete scholarships and program enhancements. This year's event surpassed all expectations, raising $89,325 and pushing the three-year total past $200,000. A record crowd of 336 guests filled Whalen Gymnasium, making it the largest Casino Night yet.

"Our Skyhawks Club Casino Night is turning into a tradition you don't want to miss," Whipple added. "The energy from this event sets the tone for the year ahead, and it's amazing to see support for our Skyhawks at an all-time high."

Over the last year, Skyhawks Athletics generated more than $2.2 million in support from 1,700+ donors—marking the third straight year surpassing the $2 million milestone. Corporate partnerships grew by 20%, and Skyhawks fans ranked among the top-15 nationally in home game attendance this past winter.

Off the field, student-athletes continued to lead in community service, contributing over 5,000 hours to Durango and the surrounding region during the 2024-25 academic year.

The Skyhawks Club plays a vital role in advancing scholarships, facility upgrades, and program enhancements—directly fueling both the student-athlete experience and competitive success. To learn more or become a member, call 970.247.7224 or [click here].
