Skyhawks cycling performs at Oredigger mountain bike race

9/22/2025 6:35:00 PM

We made one of the longer trips of our conference season up to Black Hawk, CO. Racing took place at Maryland Mountain Hidden Treasure. This is a new venue for the team to travel to, and we were excited to explore some new trails and racing. The weekend was filled with a three stage enduro for the gravity racers and a short track and cross-country race for our endurance racers.

Saturday opened with a beautiful fall day and some short track racing. We took home the win with Emmett McManus in the men's A's and 2nd for Oona Nelson in the women's A's. Our gravity riders had plenty of climbing to do to get to all the stages and practice. Then they raced their first stage down; Fast Money. In the women's A, we went 1-2-3 with Hayden Bevington, Abi Pruyn, and Oona Nelson in the first stage. In the men's A's we had Max Jackson in 2nd Caleb Haack in 3rd, Oliver Smith in 4th and Levi Logan in 5th.

Sunday was another great day of racing at 8000 feet. We started the day with men's XC and had Eliot Thornblade coming in 3rd, Sam Hart in 4th and Nate Meister in 5th. Women's A race we had Caroline Haag in 5th and Malia Brock in 6th. Sunday's enduro racing ratcheted up the challenging course racing on Hard Money at Hidden Treasure Trails. Abi Pruyn took home the stage two win, Hayden Bevington in 4th and Rowan Pierson in 5th. Caleb Haack stepped up his game and came in 2nd on stage 2 followed closely by Max Jackson in 3rd. Stage 3 on Sundays enduro was only for the A riders, on a course that was the hardest of the season and demanded a high level of focus. The gravity team finished off on a high note with Max Jackson taking home the win on the final stage as well as the overall win for the weekend. Hayden Bevington kept her focus to get 2nd on the final stage 3rd place overall for the weekend while Abi Pruyn took 3rd for the final stage but secured the overall win for the weekend.

We are now excited to host the final conference race of the season this weekend! We will be showcasing XC, STXC, and Enduro racing on Saturday the 27th and Sunday the 28th. Please come out and support us and cheer for your hometown heroes before we head out to the 2025 Collegiate Nationals.
