DURANGO, Colo. – Five student-athletes from the Fort Lewis College football team have been recognized for their academic achievements, earning spots on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® teams, the organization announced on Tuesday.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® football teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA. Select Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on January 27.

Senior wide receiver Christopher Thomas Jr. leads the group with his second nod to the All-District® teams in as many seasons. One of Fort Lewis' most dependable receivers on the outside, Thomas Jr. is also a three-time Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll honoree and National Football Foundation Colorado Chapter Academic All-Colorado First-Team member. This season, Thomas Jr. hauled in 27 catches for 266 yards and one touchdown. In the classroom, Thomas Jr. carried a 3.70 Grade Point Average, studying Marketing.

Four other Skyhawks picked up their first nods to the All-District® teams, including Nicholas Minacapelli, Jacob Morris, Collin Doucette, and Raef Wilkins. Wilkins, a name stay on the Skyhawks offensive line starting in all 27 career games since 2022, was named to the NFFCC Academic All-Colorado Honor Roll last season. In the classroom, Wilkins boasted a 3.50 GPA studying Business Administration.

Morris, a quarterback out of Chandler, Ariz., picks up his third career academic honor, adding to a pair of RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll accolades. From the pocket, Morris threw for 1,405 yards and seven touchdowns against five interceptions on 113 completions in 197 attempts (57.4 percent). The Chandler, Ariz, native earned a 3.85 GPA studying Business Economics.

Minacapelli, a two-year Skyhawk after transferring over from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, has been working on his Master's of Education: Leading in Context, after wrapping up his undergraduate degree in Exercise and Sports Science. This season, Minacapelli supplied Fort Lewis with three touchdowns, including two rushing touchdowns and a 41-yard passing connection in the season finale. Minacapelli has posted a 3.83 GPA throughout his graduate studies.

Rounding out the Skyhawks in Doucette, a linebacker and a consistent member of the Fort Lewis defense. A three-time member of the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll, Doucette was also named to the NFFCC Academic All-Colorado First-Team last fall. On the field, Doucette made 17 tackles, including 0.5 tackles for loss, while also maintaining a 3.75 GPA in the classroom.
