MADISON, Wis. – For the second consecutive year, Trek Bicycle Corporation hosted the Collegiate Road National Championships at its headquarters in Waterloo, Wisconsin, welcoming teams from across the country. The Fort Lewis College cycling team capped off a strong week of competition with a fifth-place finish in the overall team omnium standings.

The national championship week began Friday with the Team Time Trial, where riders tackled a 22.9-mile course through the rolling Wisconsin countryside.

In the Varsity Women's race, the Skyhawks squad of Charlotte Lehmann, Oona Nelson, Stella Scholz and Caroline Haag posted a time of 56:47 to secure a fourth-place podium finish.

The Varsity Men's team of Sam Hart, Elliot Thornblade, Jonathan Meyer and Ezra Brown also earned a fourth-place finish, completing the course in 47:41.

Saturday featured the Varsity Women's and Varsity Men's road races. The women competed over four laps totaling 58 miles and 3,224 feet of elevation gain. The Skyhawks rode cohesively throughout the race, remaining active in the main field as a five-rider breakaway established itself off the front. Oona Nelson led the team with an 11th-place finish, followed by Stella Scholz in 18th, Charlotte Lehmann in 20th and Caroline Haag in 24th.

The men's race covered six laps, totaling 87 miles and 4,836 feet of climbing. The Skyhawks raced aggressively throughout the day and were rewarded with Elliot Thornblade finishing sixth overall. Ezra Brown followed closely behind in 13th in the reduced field sprint. Seniors Adrian Magun and Sam Hart crossed shortly after the lead group in 21st and 22nd, respectively. Jonathan Meyer added a 28th-place finish, Isaac Allred placed 31st, Jake Olander finished 33rd and Cooper Mangum came across in 50th as the Skyhawks continued to score valuable team points.

The championships concluded Sunday in downtown Madison with the criterium races, featuring a fast rectangular course with sweeping right-hand corners.

The Varsity Women continued their strong weekend performance with Caroline Haag sprinting to a fifth-place podium finish. Oona Nelson added an 18th-place result, while Stella Scholz and Charlotte Lehmann finished 25th and 30th, respectively.

The Varsity Men's criterium proved equally aggressive, with repeated attacks unable to establish a lasting breakaway and the race ultimately ending in a field sprint. Despite several crashes and chaotic moments throughout the race, the Skyhawks produced another strong showing. Ezra Brown led the team with a ninth-place finish, followed by Elliot Thornblade in 13th, Adrian Magun in 17th, Sam Hart in 23rd and Jake Olander in 24th. Isaac Allred battled through two crashes to finish 50th overall.
