Micah Smith

Micah Smith is in his second season as the wide receivers coach at Fort Lewis in 2013.

He spent the 2011 season as the running backs coach at Wabash College in Crawfordville, Ind. The Little Giants finished the season 12-1 winning the North Coast Athletic Conference title and advancing to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III playoffs. As running backs coach, Smith was a part of a running game that led the conference in both rushing yards per game and touchdowns.

Prior to Wabash, Smith served as wide receivers graduate assistant coach at Wayne State College (Neb.) during the 2009 and 2010 seasons, working with three All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference players, including 2009 AP Little All-America first team selection Frederick Bruno.

Smith served as the passing game coordinator at Chadron High School in 2008, working with record-setting quarterback Jonn McLain to go 11-1 overall and advance to the Nebraska state semifinals.

He spent the 2007 season as a student assistant at Chadron State College working with wide receivers.

As a four-year scholarship football player at Chadron State, Smith earned four varsity letters and was the Eagles’ 2006 Special Teams MVP. He finished second in NCAA Division II in punt returns in 2006, earning second team All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and All-Nebraska honors.

Smith graduated from Chadron State in 2008 before earning a Master of Science degree in Organizational Management from Wayne State in 2011.
