Devin Schreiner

One of Fort Lewis' own in Devin Schreiner will move from a former golfer to coach as he was named the new Fort Lewis College assistant coach for both the men's and women's golf programs prior to the 2019-20 season.

"Devin is the perfect fit for our Fort Lewis men's and women's golf team," Foltz said. "Having been a past member of the men's FLC golf team, he completely understands the rigors of academic, practice, and tournament combination.  His passion for coaching student-athletes is extremely refreshing and inspiring!"

Schreiner played two years at Fort Lewis College from 2009-11, where during the 2009-10 campaign the team finished third in the RMAC Championships and advanced to the Central/West Regional in California. He later went on to play for New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, N.M., after graduating from Fort Lewis with a Bachelor of Arts in U.S. History. He took home Academic All-Conference honors from his one season at New Mexico State. Prior to arriving at Fort Lewis, Schreiner played at South Mountain CC in Phoenix where he was a NJCAA All-American during the 2007 season.

"I'm excited to be a part of Skyhawk golf once again, this time as an Assistant Coach for a program that is very dear to my heart," Schreiner said. "I look forward to working with Coach Foltz as well as the men and women of Skyhawk golf in an effort to improve their games."

Prior to moving to the collegiate level, Schreiner qualified for the 2006 USGA Public Links Championship (less than 1 percent of Amateur worldwide ever qualify for this event). He was also a product of the Hillcrest Junior Golf Program.

A local product from Durango High School, Schreiner starred at DHS where he was a varsity letter winner all four years, was a medalist in four high school tournaments during his senior year and he holds the current low tournament round at DHS with a 66.

Schreiner turned pro in 2012 and he ended up playing on the Dakotas Tour, Gateway/All-American Tour, Pepsi Tour and State Opens.
