Montoya is in her first season as the Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach, returning to her alma mater after graduating in 2017 from Fort Lewis College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education.
During her playing career, Montoya scored nine goals and added seven assists in 22 career games, highlighted by the 2017 season where she tallied 12 points (five goals, seven assists) in 12 games.
A native of Durango Colorado, Montoya graduated from Durango High and was chosen for First Team all conference two years in a row and named Most Valuable Player for DHS, leading the team in goals and assists.
Following her playing career, Montoya taught abroad in Costa Rica and has served as a coach, including high school camps and all ages of recreational lacrosse, for the city of Durango.
