Biography

Valdez, a 5-foot-7 setter, will also be a transfer after playing one season at Phoenix College. She took home Scholar-Athlete honors last season. During her high school career at Saguaro in Scottsdale, Ariz., she started on varsity all four years, including team captain for three seasons. Some of her accolades include All-City Setter, Team MVP her senior season, All-City First Team, Region Player of the Year, as well as Region Offensive Player of the Year. In 21 matches played for Phoenix College this past year, she had double-digit assists in 20 matches, going for a high of 34 against Glendale CC. Valdez posted 20 or more assists on eight different occasions.
