Durango native Sloan Lovett joined the FLC volleyball coaching staff in July 2017.
A student-athlete at Division I California State University – Sacramento, Lovett was an outside hitter for the Hornets, earning All-Big Sky second team honors in 2015. In four years at CSU-Sacramento, Lovett averaged 3.06 kills per set while adding 151 blocks and 96 aces. She joined the 1,000 career kill club in her senior season, and ranks 14th all-time in career kills (1,216).
A member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council, Lovett was selected as the team captain after her sophomore season. She spent the 2016 season as a volunteer assistant coach for the Hornets.
Lovett’s mother, Valerie (Morlan) Lovett, played basketball at FLC from 1984-1988. Her older brother, Bob, also competed in football for one season at FLC.
She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies in 2016.
