Angela Roberts was named Associate Athletic Director for Communications in May 2024, following her role as Assistant Athletic Director for Communications since 2022. She originally joined the Skyhawks as an Athletics Communications Assistant in June 2021. Before coming to Durango, she spent two years as a Sports Information Assistant at Midland University in Fremont, Nebraska.

In her third year at Fort Lewis College, Roberts was elevated to Associate Athletic Director for Communications. In November, she was named to the College Sports Communicators 30 Under 30 Class of 2023. She created and produced a series for Indigenous Peoples' Day and Black History Month. Roberts remained a member of the RMAC Hall of Fame Committee, as well as the FLC Hall of Fame Committee which announced its 2024 class in June. Throughout the academic year, she covered both cross country programs during their historic seasons which ended at the NCAA Championships. Roberts was also involved in all aspects of hosting the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference men's soccer championship game on Dirks Field.

In her second year at Fort Lewis College, Roberts was involved in hosting the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships for the first time in the college's history. In addition, she was a member of the RMAC Hall of Fame Committee. As the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (S.A.A.C.) advisor, she partnered with the president to honor and promote the college's rich indigenous history through an Indigenous Peoples' Day article and social media circuit. She closed out the academic year by coordinating and executing all aspects of the student-athlete awards banquet and the 2023 Hall of Fame Ceremony inside of Whalen Gymnasium as well as launching a new strategic plan and style guide

In her first year at Fort Lewis College, Roberts oversaw event management and day-to-day duties for each program throughout the academic year. She was involved in the Skyhawks first Hall of Fame ceremony since 2017 which saw the induction of five individuals and one team inside of Whalen Gymnasium in addition to coordinating and planning the department's first in-person student-athlete awards ceremony in recent memory.

Roberts was the lead designer on the new Whalen Gymnasium court design which was completed during the summer of 2022. For her graphic design efforts within the athletic communication realm, she earned national third and ninth-place finishes for her schedule poster designs in the 2022 CoSIDA Publications and Digital Design contest. She was also responsible for working with the conference office to redesign the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference postseason tournament logos which have been used for each championship since. 

During her two years at Midland, Roberts helped coordinate and direct coverage of game day operations for 33 varsity sports. She served as the primary contact for a variety of sports, including women’s soccer, volleyball, women’s basketball and softball.

Her primarily contact responsibilities included in-game statistics, managing the athletic website and social media campaigns, as well as the creation of digital graphics, game programs, game notes, and press releases. In the 2020-21 academic year, Roberts served as the primary contact at three national tournaments, including coverage of Midland's national runner-up volleyball team. Additionally, her spring featured coverage of Midland's Frozen Four women's hockey team and softball program that finished the season with a 40-10 record, reaching the NAIA Opening Round championship game. 

In addition to her two years at Midland University, Roberts worked as a Sports Information Assistant at the Minnesota State University-Moorhead in 2018-19 where she assisted with 16 NCAA Division II varsity sports and was the primary contact for volleyball, women’s soccer, and men’s basketball. Roberts also worked as the primary contact for the women's basketball team in the postseason, covering an NSIC Tournament Championship run and a highlight year that ended in the NCAA Regional Semifinal.

Roberts, a native of Andover, Minnesota, earned her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing Communications at Bemidji State University in 2017. She earned her Master's degree from Midland University in 2021. 

She was a four-year starter for the BSU softball team, starring on and off the diamond. The outfielder had just one fielding error and batted a career-best .348 as a senior en route to All-NSIC nods. Her 160 career hits rank sixth in program history and she was named to the BSU All-Decade team. Academically, Roberts garnered Academic All-NSIC honors and was a frequent member of the Dean’s List.

In her free time, Roberts enjoys exploring Durango and taking in all that it has to offer.
