Chris Skinner, dubbed the "Voice of the Skyhawks," serves as the primary public address announcer for Fort Lewis College athletics. The 2019-2020 sports seasons mark his second year as the full-time public address announcer for Fort Lewis College football, and his third year for men and women's basketball. This fall will be his first season for volleyball and men and women's soccer.
Skinner is in his 14th year as an 8th grade science teacher at Escalante Middle School in Durango, where he has also previously worked as a public address announcer for football and basketball. For 13 years, he has been the PA voice for the Escalante vs. Miller Middle School rivalry game played at Durango High School.
The Monument, Colorado native earned his bachelor's degree in Anthropology and master's degree in Education from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
He currently resides in Durango with his wife Pam Bennett-Skinner.
