Preston Charlie was named the Assistant Athletic Director for Game Environment and Facilities in April 2026. A former Skyhawks student-athlete, Charlie brings a comprehensive background in athletic operations, facility management, and student-athlete development to the role.
Most recently, Charlie served in the college’s Grounds Department, where he was instrumental in maintaining and preparing competition venues, overseeing field operations, and coordinating large-scale event setup to ensure a safe and high-quality game day experience. His work has consistently supported multiple athletic programs through detailed planning, collaboration with campus partners, and adherence to NCAA standards.
In addition to their operational expertise, Charlie has experience as a volunteer assistant coach for track and cross country and as an exercise specialist intern, working directly with student-athletes to enhance performance and well-being. Their background also includes community engagement and youth sports programming.
Charlie graduated from Fort Lewis College in 2019 with a degree in Exercise Science and a minor in coaching. He was a four-year member of the cross-country and track teams, serving as team captain for two years.
