Alex Herrera recorded his 19th and 20th double-doubles of the season with two home wins over No. 9 MSU Denver and Regis University. He averaged 22.5 points per game, 12 rebounds per game, 2.5 blocks and made 11-of-26 field goals and 23-of-30 free throws.
On Friday, he recorded 20 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal against the Roadrunners, shooting 6-of-12 from the field and 8-of-11 from the line. On Saturday against the Rangers, Herrera tallied 25 points, 12 rebounds, three blocks and a steal.
He was named the RMAC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, marking the third time this season he has swept the awards.
Through 26 games this season, Herrera is averaging 23.7 points and 11.6 rebounds per game. He leads NCAA Division II in blocked shots per game (3.42), free throw attempts (308), and total blocks (89).
