Men's Soccer Finishes Regular Season Undefeated in the RMAC

Settle Tallies 4 Assists and One Goal in Victory
November 1st, 2009.  Pueblo, CO. -  Not one, not two but seven goals came from the final regular season game for #3 Fort Lewis Men's Soccer team earlier today in Pueblo. The Skyhawks had six players score in their 7-0 romp of the Thunderwolves to remain undefeated in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Fort Lewis improves to 17-1-0 overall and 14-0-0 in the RMAC.

The Skyhawks were able to light the scoreboard up in the first six minutes of the match when Tom Settle sent the ball into the box on a cornerkick where it found Fabian Kling's foot, who punched it in to the back of the net. Fort Lewis would put up four more goals in the first half compliments to Thomas Hoang (6), Tom Settle (7), Abdel Becerra (7) and Fabian Kling (5) who got his second goal of the day, once again off of a Settle cornerkick, except this time his head got the credit for the goal. 

Fort Lewis continued to outplay the Thunderwolves in the second half putting up two more goals from Jeff Jennings (3) and an unassisted goal by Joe Barnd (6). The Skyhawks line of defense played a solid game, giving up only one shot on goal. Fort Lewis recorded 14 shots, 8 of those on goal and 7 of them finding the back of the net. 

Settle tallied one goal and four assists to lead the Skyhawks in points with 6. Zane Wells recorded his 11th shutout, tallying one save. 

Next on the schedule for Skyhawks is the RMAC Tournament which will be hosted by Fort Lewis this coming up Friday and Sunday, November 6 & 8. The semifinal game between the #2 and #3 seed will be at 12:00pm and the Skyhawks (#1 seed) will face the #4 seed at 2:30. The Championship match will be Sunday at 1:00pm.
