Men's and Women's Basketball Latest Rankings

December 9th, 2009. Durango, CO - The Fort Lewis Men's and Women's Basketball teams traveled to Denver, CO this past weekend to take on Metro State and Regis University. Both teams fell to the Metro State Roadrunners Friday evening but were able to turn around on Saturday and earn the win against the Regis University Rangers. 

The Women's Basketball team (9-1) lost to the Roadrunners 65-75 as Katie Mackey led the team with 13 points on the night. The Skyhawks were able to add another win to their record on Saturday at Regis University (3-3) beating the Rangers 81-65. Abby Jackson led the Hawks with 18 points and 6 assists.

After going 1-1 over the weekend, the Skyhawks dropped from the #3 spot in the USA TODAY ESPN DIVISION II TOP 25 COACHES' POLL to #7. 

The Men's Basketball team (6-1) fell in a close game 65-70 against the Roadrunners (5-1) Friday night as the Skyhawks were led by DeAndre Lansdowne with 19 points. The Hawks were able to defeat the Rangers (2-2) Saturday night 78-67 as Lansdowne led his team once again with 24 points.

The Men's team received votes to be ranked in the NABC/Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll after the third week of their regular season.

The Skyhawks will be taking on Chadron State and Nebraska-Kearney at Whalen Gymnasium on December 11th and 12th. The women's games will tip off at 6:00pm both Friday and Saturday as the men will tip off at 8:00pm both nights.
