January 9th, 2009. Colorado Springs, CO. - A last second three-pointer bounced off the back of the rim giving the Skyhawks the 65-62 victory over UCCS last night in the new Mountain Lion Events Center.
Kyle Behrens two late free-throws with :10 seconds left gave the Skyhawks the three point lead to seal the victory and help the Hawks' improve to 10-3 overall and 4-1 in the RMAC.
The Mountain Lions would take a 6-point lead into the half and push there lead to 38-28 with 18 minutes left in the second half. The Skyhawks would fight back and tie the game at 44 after a
DeAndre Lansdowne three-point play. The score was knotted again at 46 but then
Daniel Steffensen would score five points on a Hawks' 7-0 run, a lead the Skyhawks would not relinquish.
Behrens would lead the Skyhawks with 14 points and two clutch free throws.
Matt Morris and
David Kanyinda both finished with 13 points and Lansdowne tallied 12 points respectively.
The Skyhawks nex opponents will be Colorado Christian on Jan. 15th at 8pm and Colorado School of Mines on Jan. 16th at 7:30pm.
