Hunter chosen as RMAC Defensive Player of the Week

Freshman cornerback records 10 tackles, three pass break-ups in 14-7 victory

Harrison Hunter (21) makes one of his 10 tackles in 14-7 win at Adams State last Saturday.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Harrison Hunter was named Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, RMAC Assistant Commissioner Sarah Meier announced today.

“Harrison has been a pleasant addition to our football program since he stepped on campus from day one,” said first-year head coach Cesar Rivas-Sandoval. “It's fun to watch Harrison who is only a true freshmen develop each and every week. He is a great role model for all of our players on the field and in the classroom — he entered this year with over a 4.0 GPA. His best football is still ahead of him.”

Hunter, a 5-foot-9, 170-lb. freshman cornerback from Fountain-Fort Carson High School in Colorado Springs, Colo., was chosen as RMAC Defensive Player of the Week. He had 10 tackles (four solo) and three pass break-ups in FLC's 14-7 win at Adams State College Saturday, including one on ASC's final play of the game, a fourth-and-13 at the ASC 49 with 23 seconds remaining.

Fort Lewis (2-5 overall, 2-4 RMAC) hosts Chadron State (5-3, 4-2) at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30 at Ray Dennison Memorial Field in Durango.
