LAKEWOOD, Colo. — The Fort Lewis College men's basketball team (12-2 overall, 8-2 in the
Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) continued its recent hot streak by dismantling Colorado Christian (4-9, 3-7) last night at the CCU Events Center. The Skyhawks have now won six straight league games.
Seniors
David Kanyinda and
DeAndre Lansdowne exploded for a combined 47 points. Kanyinda made four of seven three-point shots and had three highlight-reel drives to lead all scorers with 25 points. Lansdowne, the Preseason RMAC Player of the Year, went 10-of-17 from the field to finish with 22.
Reserve forward
Josh Cassaday was the only other Skyhawk in double figures, finishing with 16 points.
As a team, the Skyhawks were hot from long range, burying 12 of 27 treys (.444). Cassaday and
Tayler Faust each went two-for-two from behind the arc.
The Cougars were led by B.J. Wortham's 16 points. Chris Oneal and Michael Stamer each scored 11.
Fort Lewis led 51-27 at the half. The Skyhawks outrebounded the Cougars 44-33.
The Skyhawks travel to Golden tonight for an 8 p.m. showdown with Colorado Mines (12-2, 8-2) in Lockridge Arena.
