DURANGO, Colo. — Kickoff for Sunday's women's soccer game between No. 5 Fort Lewis and Angelo State has been changed to 11 a.m.
The game has been publicized in some circles as noon or 1 p.m., but will indeed start at 11 a.m. MDT Sunday.
Fort Lewis (2-0-0 overall) began its season by beating Midwestern State 3-0 last Friday and Texas A&M-Commerce 4-2 last Sunday. Both games were played in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Angelo State (2-1-0) familiarized itself with FLC's home pitch today, losing to Colorado Mesa (2-0-1) 2-0 at Dirks Field. Leilani Wiernicki lifted a free kick from 35 yards out off the post and into the goal at 46:44 to give the Mavs a 1-0 lead. Mesa added insurance at 73:06 when Sarah Pope headed home Julia Kranstover's cross.
The Mavs outshot the Rambelles 15-7 overall, 7-2 in shots on frame.
CMU's Sarah Schnetzler stopped the only two shots on goal that she faced to pick up the shutout.
Angelo State's Danielle Edwards made five saves, but allowed the two goals.
Today's game was delayed by 90 minutes because of an official's scheduling snafu.
