Box Score DURANGO, Colo. – The Fort Lewis College women's soccer season came to an end Sunday afternoon with a 1-0 loss to No. 10 St. Edward's University at Dirks Field in the NCAA South Central Region Second Round game.
After a scoreless 90 minutes in regulation, the Hilltoppers Riana Soobadoo made a long run down the right side of the field and went one-on-one with the Skyhawks goalie,
Caitlyn Espinosa. Soobadoo was able to place the ball past the keeper into the back left side of the net for the game-winning goal in overtime at 95:27.
The Hilltoppers held a shots advantage on the Skyhawks, 12-11 overall and 3-2 shots on goal.
St. Edward's (18-0-2), which defeated Texas A&M Commerce Friday afternoon 1-0 in the NCAA First Round to advance to today's game, will face Metro State in the regional championship game later this week.
The Skyhawks end their season 16-6-0 overall.
