Skyhawk Tim Jenkins signs with St. Louis Rams

Tim Jenkins
ST. LOUIS, MO - Former Skyhawk quarterback Tim Jenkins will get his shot in the NFL. After being invited to participate in the St. Louis Rams' rookie minicamp, the Rams offered Tim a contract with the team.

Tim's play at QB for Fort Lewis College was a bright spot in otherwise difficult years for Skyhawk Football. During his freshman year, for example, Tim played in all 11 games and was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Offensive Freshman of the Year. Injuries marred his senior season, yet he still threw for over 300 yards per game, including a career high 501 yards against CSU-Pueblo.

Despite the injuries, Tim was invited to play in the Casino Del Sol College All-Star Game in 2013. The game is a chance for draft-eligible college players to showcase their talents for NFL scouts.

“The Fort Lewis College community is very proud of Tim,” says FLC Athletics Director Gary Hunter. “He was not only a great football player but was an outstanding citizen and role model. We look forward to following his NFL career.”

The Rams went 7-8-1 last season, but look to improve under new Head Coach Jeff Fisher. Tim will be looking for a spot on the roster, likely as a backup to starting quarterback Sam Bradford.
