DURANGO, Colo. – November 20, 2014 –
Kaile Magazzeni's three-point field goal 23 seconds into the game gave the Fort Lewis College women's basketball team a 3-0 lead they would not relinquish for the next 39 minutes of action. The Skyhawks won their home opener, recording an 81-47 win over Northern New Mexico.
Magazzeni was one of three Skyhawks to score in double figures. She finished the game with 10 points after making 4-of-9 field goals and both three-point field goal attempts. She added five rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block.
Mary Brinton led all scorers with 14 points, missing only two field goals on eight attempts. She contributed seven rebounds and stole the ball three times.
Ande Lampert came off the bench to net 12 points in 11 minutes of action. Lampert made 4-of-5 field goals and 4-of-6 from the charity stripe.

Michelle Turner each dished out five assists, contributing to the team's 25 assists.
The Skyhawks made 18-of-41 field goals in the first half (43.9 percent) and 13-of-25 field goals in the second half to finish the game shooting 47 percent from the floor (31-of-66).
Despite dishing out 25 assists on 31 field goals, the Skyhawks committed 21 turnovers, leading to eight points for the Eagles. FLC out-scored NNMC in the paint, 34-12 and the Skyhawks bench netted 45 points to the Eagles 25 bench points.
The Skyhawks led by as many as 40 points in the game and led the entire game with the exception of 23 seconds when the game was tied in the first half.
Fort Lewis will play at Eastern New Mexico Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 6 p.m.
