Balanced Scoring Leads to 88-61 Win

DURANGO, Colo. – Four Fort Lewis College women's basketball players scored in double figures Friday night against Western State Colorado University to lead the Skyhawks to an 88-61 win.
 
Senior guard Erika Richards scored a team high 20 points after making 6-of-13 field goals and 3-of-5 from long range.  Senior forward Christie Groh chipped in 14 points to go with her four rebounds.  Kaile Magazzeni and Ashley Kuchar both netted 11 points.  Three of Kuchar's four field goals came from long range.  Magazzeni pulled down a team high six rebounds, four of which came on the offensive glass. 
 
Ande Lampert came off the bench to score seven points in nine minutes of action.  Lampert made 3-of-4 field goals and added one blocked shot.  Kate Bayes made 6-of-6 from the free throw line as part of her eight points. 
 
The Skyhawks took their largest lead of the game with 16 ticks left in regulation when they held a 28-point advantage.
 
Fort Lewis netted 46.9 percent from the floor after sinking 30-of-64 field goals.  The Skyhawks were nearly perfect on their 20 free throw attempts, sinking 18 of them for 90 percent. 
 
The Skyhawks defense forced 21 Mountaineer turnovers and held them to a 33.9 field goal shooting percentage (20-59).  WSCU's Jade McIntosh netted a game high 23 points.
 
Fort Lewis will play their final regular season game tomorrow night at home against No. 2 Colorado Mesa University.  The Skyhawks will be honoring their three seniors before the game: Ashley Kuchar, Christie Groh and Erika Richards.
