COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Fort Lewis College women's basketball team has been picked to finish fifth in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Preseason Coaches' Poll, the league announced Thursday.
The Skyhawks collected 143 points, including two second-place and two third-place votes, while junior guard Katie Lamb and senior guard Makaya Porter earned Preseason All-RMAC recognition.
Fort Lewis enters the 2026-27 campaign with momentum following a strong showing against NCAA Division I Southern Utah in exhibition play, where the Skyhawks knocked off the Thunderbirds in preparation for the upcoming season.
Lamb, a native of Parker, Colorado, returns for her junior season after earning Second Team All-RMAC honors in 2025-26. The talented guard will look to build on her success as one of the Skyhawks' key returning contributors.
Joining Lamb on the preseason all-conference team is Porter, a senior from Elkhart, Indiana. Porter also earned Second Team All-RMAC recognition last season and gives Fort Lewis another experienced presence heading into the new campaign.
The Skyhawks were one of three programs to land multiple players on the 10-member preseason all-conference team, joining Colorado Mesa and New Mexico Highlands.
