Skyhawks Play Mountaineers to a 0-0 Draw

DURANGO, Colo. – September 26, 2014 – The Fort Lewis College women's soccer team played their third overtime game in the last six contests as they drew a 0-0 double overtime result Friday afternoon against Western State Colorado University.
 
The tie moves the Skyhawks to 2-3-2 overall and 1-1-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.  The Mountaineers remain undefeated on the season with a 4-0-3 overall mark and a 1-0-2 league record.
 
The Skyhawks back line held WSCU to 10 shots, none of which landed on goal.  Fort Lewis posted 19 shots against the Mountaineers, three of which were on goal.  Courtney Riley led both teams with four shots.  Jordan Hix and Shannon Harpham each added three shots.
 
Caitlyn Espinosa recorded her second straight shutout of the season.  Espinosa has not allowed a goal in the last 218 minutes between the posts.
 
Fort Lewis will play host to Colorado State University-Pueblo Sunday at 12 p.m.  Admission to the game is free with a donation to the Global Down Syndrome Foundation or the Durango Special Olympics.
