GOLDEN, Colo. – September 27, 2014 – The Fort Lewis College volleyball team was held to 34 points Saturday night at Lockridge Arena as No. 12 Colorado School of Mines swept the Skyhawks (25-11, 25-11, 25-12).
The loss sets the Skyhawks back to 4-10 overall and 1-5 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The No. 12 Orediggers improve to 12-2 overall and 5-1 in league play.
Madi Bickle posted seven kills on 15 attempts for a .333 hitting percentage (two errors) to lead the Skyhawks offense.
Ciara Krening added 13 assists and
Ally Dell'Amico posted a team high 10 digs.
As a team, the Skyhawks hit .000 at the net, tallying 19 kills and committing 19 errors on 87 attempts.
The Orediggers Meghan Peterson led both teams with 13 kills. Peterson recorded only one error on 19 attempts for a .632 hitting percentage.
The Skyhawks will remain on the road next weekend, facing Western State on Friday at 7 p.m. and Colorado State-Pueblo on Saturday at 2 p.m.
