VideoAbout the SkyhawksFort Lewis' two game winning streak was snapped Friday night in an 11-point loss at Regis. Â The Skyhawks rebounded to defeat MSU Denver the following night by four, 65-61, in overtime.
The overtime game was the first of the year for Fort Lewis. Â The Skyhawks trailed by as many as nine points in the first half. Â They did not lead the Roadrunners until the 10 minute mark in the second half.
Mary Brinton made one of two free throws with six seconds left in regulation to force overtime. Â In the extra period, she scored six of the Skyhawks eight points as FLC out-scored MSU Denver, 8-4.
Brinton recorded individual season highs for the Skyhawks on Saturday against MSU Denver, recording the most points (22), field goals made (8) and field goals attempted (15) in a game this season. Â
Kate Bayes also recorded individual season highs in steals (6), free throws made (10) and free throws attempted in a game (11).
Saturday's overtime win was the second straight year the Skyhawks came back to defeat the Roadunners in overtime on the road. Â FLC earned an 89-88 extra period win on Feb. 21, 2014 at Auraria Event Center.
The Skyhawks are in a four way tie for fifth place in the RMAC standings with a 6-5 record.
The Skyhawks have one of the best defenses in the conference allowing only 58.7 points per game, the third fewest points allowed by any team in the RMAC. Fort Lewis is also first in the RMAC for defensive field goal percentage, holding opponents to 34.4 percent. The Skyhawks rank second in offensive rebounding (13.4) and second in blocked shots (63 total).
Fort Lewis has two student-athletes ranked in the top 20 for rebounding with
Mary Brinton placing 11th (6.1) in the RMAC and Magazzeni placing 16th (5.7). Magazzeni is fifth in the RMAC with a total of 25 blocked shots.
Kate Bayes is third in the RMAC in steals with a 2.3 average. Brinton leads the RMAC in field goal percentage, knocking down 54.5 percent of her shots.Â
About the CougarsColorado Christian is one of four teams in the RMAC tied with Fort Lewis for fifth place in the league standings (6-5).
The Cougars will play their first road games after hosting four straight at home. Â CCU went 2-2 in the home stretch, defeating Regis and Colorado State-Pueblo, and falling to MSU Denver and UCCS.
CCU is ranked 10th in the league in scoring offense (62.8 points per game), scoring defense (68.0 points per game) and scoring margin (-5.2). Â They are blocking 3.9 shots per game (third in the RMAC) and dishing out 14.3 assists per game (fourth).
Kate Louthan (13.8), Claire Paxton (12.5) and Taylor Torres (12.2) rank in the top 20 in the RMAC in scoring. Â Louthan and Paxton are also averaging 7.3 and 7.2 rebounds, respectively, to rank sixth and seventh in the league in rebounding. Â
Three of the league's top 10 shot blockers hail from CCU: Paxton (third, 2.1 average), Louthan (eighth, 0.8) and Ali Meyer (0.8).

The Skyhawks holds a 24-9 overall record against CCU. Fort Lewis's home record against the Cougars is 13-2. The last time CCU beat at Fort Lewis was last season in a 10 point victory. The Skyhawks last win against the Cougars in Durango was Feb. 28 2012 in a game that Fort Lewis won by over 30 points. The Skyhawks have won the past 15 out of 18 games against the Cougars. Â
About the OrediggersColorado School of Mines enters this weekend's road trip with a 3-8 RMAC record, placing them 10th in the league standings. Â Two of the Orediggers three wins have come this month against Regis and Colorado State-Pueblo.
Courtney Martin is averaging 13.8 points per game, followed by Laura Tyree's 12.6. Â Tyree is also dishing out 4.6 assists per game, the second most in the RMAC. Â Sam Rusk is a three-point threat, netting 39 threes and hitting them at a 40.6 clip (39-96).

Fort Lewis holds an all time record over the Orediggers of 32-13. The Skyhawks are 18-5 at home against Colorado Mines. The Orediggers last win in Durango came on Feb. 12 2012. The Skyhawks have a two game win streak against Colorado Mines, including a 15 point blowout win in Golden on Jan. 25 2014. Fort Lewis has won 11 of the last 12 match-ups against Colorado Mines.?
