"We played pretty well," said Fort Lewis College head women's basketball coach
Jason Flores. "Obviously playing after a long trip and a long break we're a little worried but our team came back to a good place. They came back ready to go and in shape. We had six practices heading into this game, which kind of carried us through. We were spread out offensively across the board. We took care of the ball pretty well in the second half. We got a lot of good shots off of good passing. It was overall a good team win which is important, especially heading into tomorrow. Black Hills is a good team and a really good environment. It's going to be a fun game to play in."
Both teams exchanged score leads throughout the first 10 minutes of the game but the Skyhawks took a lead at 10:22 in the first half and would lead the rest of the game.
Brinton netted 7-of-10 field goals and 7-of-10 free throws for a season high 21 points. She added a team high eight rebounds and added one blocked shot.
