DURANGO, Colo. – January 23, 2015 – The Fort Lewis College women's basketball team was held to a season low 49 points in a 62-49 home loss to Colorado Christian University Friday night at Whalen Gymnasium. The loss moves the Skyhawks to 9-7 overall and 6-6 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
Junior forward
Mary Brinton led all scorers with 20 points. Brinton netted 7-of-11 for the floor and 6-of-8 from the free throw line. She also accounted for seven rebounds, three steals, and one assist.
Kaile Magazzeni and
Skylyn Webb each scored seven points. Magazzeni tied Brinton for team high honors with seven rebounds.
Kate Bayes came off the bench to contribute eight points, three steals, and three rebounds.
Michelle Turner made the Skyhawks lone three point field goal to go with her three
assists.
The Skyhawks outscored Colorado Christian in the paint, 26-16. Colorado Christian scored 28 points off of 28 Skyhawk turnovers.
Fort Lewis shot 33.3 percent (15-of-45) from the floor and 18-of-21 from the charity stripe.
Fort Lewis will play host to Colorado Mines Saturday night at 5:30 at Whalen Gymnasium.
