Box Score LAKEWOOD, Colo. – October 11, 2015 – After 83 minutes of scoreless soccer,
Haleigh Macomb scored her first career goal at 83:34 to lead the Fort Lewis College women's soccer team to a 1-0 win at Colorado Christian University Sunday afternoon from Trailblazer Stadium.
The Skyhawks goal came after CCU cleared the ball and Macomb collected it and dribbled it forward and around an outside defender. Her shot went off the back post and into the goal.
Kodie Johnson recorded her second shutout of the week after making four saves in goal. She improves to 2-0-0 between the posts.
"I'm very proud of Kodie," said Fort Lewis head coach
Jimmy Hall. "She made fantastic saves and she earned the shutout today. The team played well and fought hard."
Fort Lewis posted 13 shots against the Cougars with five landing on target. The Cougars were held to nine shots (four shots on goal).
Shannon Harpham and
Renee Terrell each posted two shot attempts.
The win was the Skyhawks seventh straight as they improve to 10-2-1 overall and 8-1-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Today's match was the Skyhawks fifth game in the past nine days, and third road game in the past five days.
The Skyhawks will return to Dirks Field on Sunday, Oct. 18 to play host to Adams State University at 12 p.m.
