Malecki Nets Game Winning Goal at UCCS

COLORADO SPRINGS – October 30, 2015 – The Fort Lewis College women's soccer team remain undefeated at UCCS after defeating the Mountain Lions, 2-1, Friday night at Mountain Lion Stadium.  The Skyhawks improve to 6-0-0 all-time at UCCS.
 
Michaela Mansfield gave UCCS a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute before Alicia Sanchez knotted the game at 18:18 on a penalty kick.  The goal was Cooper's sixth of the season and second penalty kick goal. 
 
Shayla Malecki sealed the win at 30:38 when she found the back of the next off of a header for her third goal of the season and second game-winning goal this year.
 
The Skyhawks improve to 11-4-2 overall and UCCS moves to 10-5-2 overall.
 
Both teams attempted 17 shots in the game.  Seven of the Skyhawks shots landed on goal.  Riley and Jordan HIx led both teams with four shot attempts.  Caitlyn Espinosa stopped three of four shots on goal for her ninth win this year.
 
FLC will travel to Western State Colorado University for the final game of the regular season.  Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.
