Men’s Soccer Notch 2-1 Road Win at CSUP

PUEBLO, Colo. – October 9, 2015 – Yannis Becker assisted Austin Derksen on the Skyhawks first goal of the game and then netted the game-winning goal to lift the Fort Lewis College men's soccer team to a 2-1 road win at Colorado State University-Pueblo Friday night.

The win was the Skyhawks sixth straight over the ThunderWolves, and it improves FLC's record to 9-3 overall and 5-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

Derksen scored his first goal of the season at 54:57.  Twenty-two minutes later Becker gave FLC a 2-0 lead from Nicolas Perez' assist.  CSUP found the back of the net with less than three minutes left in regulation to prevent the shutout.

FLC was slightly outshot, 13-12.  Becker led both teams with five shot attempts.

Elliot Chadderton posted his ninth win in goal after making five saves.

The Skyhawks will return home to play host to Colorado School of Mines on Oct. 16, and Colorado Christian University on Oct. 18.
