PROVO, Utah – November 5, 2015 – Playing in their first competition of the season, the Fort Lewis College women's basketball team fell to Division I Brigham Young University Thursday night in an exhibition game, 77-67.

Jason Flores. BYU is an NCAA tournament team and a really good team and to play them within 10 points is really good. We got to play everyone that made the trip. We did a good job battling against them. For the most part we take a lot of good things from this game."
After the first quarter, the Skyhawks trailed by only one point, 15-14, and only four points at the half, 37-33. BYU came out strong in the third quarter, outscoring the Skyhawks 29-17, but FLC outscored the Cougars 17-11 in the final quarter.
Kate Bayes led the Skyhawks with 14 points, one block and on steal.
Astrea Reed chipped in 13 points and a steal.
FLC made 37.5 percent from the floor (21-56) and 75.0 percent from the free throw line (22-29).
BYU was led by Makenzi Pulspher who netted 17 points and made all 10 free throw attempts.
The Skyhawks will play at the University of Utah at 7 p.m. tomorrow night in another exhibition game.
