SALT LAKE CITY – November 6, 2015 – The Fort Lewis College women's basketball team was within one point of the University of Utah with two minutes left to go in regulation before the Utes made a late run to win the exhibition game in Salt Lake City, 77-69.
"I'm really proud of our team for being able to compete at a high level back to back nights," said head coach
Jason Flores. "We were able to cut it to one point with two minutes to go but they made a couple tough plays down the stretch. We're looking forward to coming back home and be able to open at home with a couple region games right off the bat."
Freshman
Astrea Reed led FLC with 19 points.
Ande Lampert, Reed and
Sydni Brandon each pulled down six rebounds. Lampert added four blocks.
FLC shot 34.4 percent from the floor and 26.3 percent from long range.
The Skyhawks will open the regular season at home Nov. 13-14 at Whalen Gymnasium against Westminster College and Eastern New Mexico.
