GOLDEN, Colo. – The Fort Lewis College women's soccer team came from behind to post a 2-1 win over University of Colorado Colorado Springs Friday evening the 2015 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference women's soccer semifinal match at Stemole Stadium in Golden, Colo.
Trailing 1-0 just six minutes and 51 seconds into the game,
Shayla Malecki picked up
Courtney Riley's rebounded shot 35 seconds later to knot the game, 1-1.
Renee Terrell netted the game-winning goal at 50:19 when she headed the ball in from
Courtney Riley's corner kick.
FLC outshot the Mountain Lions, 20-14 and 9-5 shots on goal.
Alicia Sanchez and Terrell led the Skyhawks with four shots each.
Caitlyn Espinosa made four saves in 90 minutes between the posts.
The Skyhawks improve to 16-6-3 all-time in the RMAC Women's Soccer Tournament, and 4-0 all-time against UCCS in the RMAC Tournament. Today was the first time the two teams met each other on a neutral site field.
Fort Lewis will be playing for their fourth RMAC Tournament Championship in school history when they face off against top seed Colorado School of Mines on Sunday at 12 p.m.
