Women's Soccer Falls in Championship Game; Four Named to All-Tournament Team

GOLDEN, Colo. – November 8, 2015 – Two nationally ranked teams faced each other Sunday afternoon at Stermole Stadium in Golden, Colo. in the 2015 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament championship game.  The 25th-ranked Fort Lewis College women's soccer team fell to 20th-ranked Colorado School of Mines, 1-0.

Andra Thaden, Shayla Malecki, Jordan Hix and Courtney Riley were named to the 2015 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Tournament Team.

"I'm proud of the girls," said head coach Jimmy Hall.  "We had a great opportunity.  I thought we dominated the game; it's unfortunate not to win the game. Their goal was one of the few times we were impatient and passed the ball away.  The girls did a good job of trying to contain the ball."

The Skyhawks outshot the Orediggers, 11-7, and 5-3 shots on goal.  All three of the Orediggers shots on goal came in the second half.

Haley Cole scored the game-winning goal for CSM at 77:17.

Alicia Sanchez and Hix each tallied a team high three shot attempts.  Two of Sanchez' shots were on target and one of Hix' shots landed on goal.

The Skyhawks will await their seeding in the 2015 NCAA Tournament.  The Skyhawks entered the weekend as the No. 2 seed in the South Central Region.  The Orediggers, who were ranked sixth in this week's regional ranking, will receive an automatic berth to the tournament.

The NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament will be announced on Monday, Nov. 9 at 4:30 p.m. (MST) at http://www.ncaa.com/liveschedule/2015/11/09.
