VideoQuick HitsFort Lewis opened the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference season with a 41-point win at Adams State University Saturday night (106-65), marking their second straight game of outscoring their opponent by at least 40 points.
FLC recorded several season highs against the Grizzlies, including points (106), field goals made (37), field goal percentage (58.7 percent, 37-63), three-point field goal percentage (42.1 percent, 8-19), free throws made (24), free throw attempts (33), and blocked shots (7).
For the fourth straight week, FLC has been ranked in the 2015-16 Women's Basketball Division II South Central Regional Poll. Â FLC remains at No. 5 this week for the third consecutive week.
FLC will play host to Colorado Mines (3-2, 1-0 RMAC) on Friday and Colorado Christian on Saturday (3-2, 0-1 RMAC). Â The Orediggers defeated the Cougars last Saturday night, 64-63.
Mary Rambo was named the 2015-16 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. Â Rambo recorded her second double-double of the season with a 13-point, 12-rebound performance at Adams State University (W, 106-65) Saturday night. Â She led both teams with three blocks and a game high seven defensive rebounds. Â She also added one steal. Â From the floor, she made 4-of-5 field goals and 5-of-6 free throws.Â
The Skyhawks lead the league in field goal percentage (42.1 percent), free throw attempts (141), free throws made (105), rebounds per game (44.3) and scoring offense (79.8). Â FLC is second in the RMAC in assists (95), rebound margin (20.7), scoring margin (20.7), three-point field goals attempts (123), three-point field goal defense (26.0 percent), fewest turnovers per game (12.7), and won/lost percentage (83.3).
