DURANGO, Colo. – February 13, 2015 – Freshman guard
Dallas Dickerson came off the bench to score a career high 13 points at home against Colorado State University-Pueblo to lead the Fort Lewis College women's basketball team offensively. The Skyhawks suffered a 67-60 loss to the ThunderWolves.
The Skyhawks trailed 32-23 at halftime after making 8-of-30 field goals and 4-of-12 three-point fields in the first half.
Mary Brinton made a layup 40 seconds into the second half before the Skyhawks went nearly six minutes before another basket.
FLC trailed by as many as 18 points in the second half but went on a 26-11 run to get within three points of the ThunderWolves with 63 seconds left in regulation, 63-60. The Skyhawks turned the ball over four times in the final minute and were held without a basket to drop to 12-9 overall and 9-8 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
The Skyhawks made a season high 11 three-point field goals and shot a season best 47.8 percent from behind the arc.
All four of
Kylie Santos' field goals were from long range as she netted 12 points, three assists and two steals. Brinton added 10 points, eight rebounds and blocked three shots.
Brinton,
Kaile Magazzeni (three blocks) and
Ande Lampert (two blocks) accounted for a season team high of eight blocks.
Ashley Piper led five ThunderWolves scoring in double digits when she tallied a game high 19 points.
The ThunderWolves missed only three of 27 free throw attempts as they attempted 15 more free throws than the Skyhawks (9-of-12).
Fort Lewis will play host to University of Colorado Colorado Springs Saturday night at 5:30 p.m.
