Box Score ALBUQUERQUE – August 17, 2015 – Playing on their first day of preseason training camp, the Fort Lewis College women's soccer team fell to NCAA Division I University of New Mexico Lobos Monday night in an exhibition match, 3-1. Freshman forward
Renee Terrell came off the bench to score the Skyhawks lone goal of match.
Terrell tied the game with less than two minutes left in the first half off of
Jordan Hix' assist at 42:36. Despite only getting two shots off the entire game, the Skyhawks were tied with UNM for more than 30 minutes.
Senior goalkeeper
Caitlyn Espinosa made six saves and allowed one goal in the first 70 minutes of the game.
The Lobos netted back-to-back goals from Claire Lynch and Bailey Webster in the 74
th and 78
th minutes to secure the win, 3-1.
Kodie Johnson played the final 20 minutes between the posts, notching one save.
Fort Lewis was held to two shots with Terrell's goal the only shot on goal. The Lobos rattled off 29 shots, 11 of which landed on goal.
The Skyhawks will scrimmage Adams State University at home on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Dirks Field.
