DURANGO, Colo. – September 11, 2015 –
Alex Tillberry's first career goal came with 10 minutes left in regulation to give the Fort Lewis College men's soccer team a 1-0 lead over West Texas A&M University Friday afternoon at Dirks Field.
Laurin Weiland sealed the win four minutes later as the Skyhawks posted a 2-0 win.
Tillberry's goal came at 80:21 on a pass from
Raul Pescador. Tillberry dribbled down the center and shot from 10 yards out. Weiland's second goal of the season came from almost the exact same spot as he found the back of the net at 84:54.
FLC doubled their shots against West Texas A&M, 18-9. Zak Lawrence recorded a game high five shots.
Yannis Becker and Weiland each added three shots.
Freshman
Elliot Chadderton made his first career start in goal, making three saves for his first ever shutout.
West Texas A&M's Patrick Satorie made five saves in goal.
The Skyhawks (1-2-0) will play host to St. Mary's University Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m.
