SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – September 11, 2015 – The Fort Lewis College volleyball team dropped two matches Friday afternoon at the California State University, San Bernardino Coyote Classic. FLC dropped the first match to Cal Poly Pomona, 3-1 (17-25, 28-26, 27-29, 11-25), and the second match to California State University, Dominguez Hills, 3-0 (22-25, 17-25, 21-25).
Against CPP, the Skyhawks hit a set high .170 in the second set after recording 13 kills.
Matisse Monty notched a team high 12 kills on 54 attempts and added 12 digs and two blocks.
Maddie LeBlanc hit a match high .462 with seven kills on 13 attempts, while
Kendra Swackenberg recorded 32 set assists, 12 digs and two aces. Libero
Ally Dell'Amico led both teams with 22 digs.
CPP's Deanna Blaine notched a match high 18 kills.
The Skyhawks committed 10 receiving errors against CSUDH and four serving errors but hit .123 offensively. Monty paced FLC with 10 kills and 15 digs, and
Shelby Lehman added five kills on 10 attempts with no hitting errors. Swackenberg accounted for 18 of the Skyhawks 30 assists.
Fort Lewis will compete against California State University, East Bay and host school CSUSB on Saturday.
