Women’s Soccer Defeat No. 9 Dallas Baptist

Box Score GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – September 12, 2015 – Brooke Milliet scored her first goal of the season less than six minutes into the game to give the Fort Lewis College women's soccer team a 1-0 lead over No. 9 Dallas Baptist University.  The Skyhawks would go on to upset the Patriots, 2-1, Saturday afternoon at Walker Field in Grand Junction, Colo.
 
Courtney Riley netted the game winning at 49:40 on a pass from Carolyn Archer.  DBU quickly responded with Skye Sivess' goal to cut the lead to 2-1, but FLC held the Patriots from knotting the game for the next 40:09.
 
Senior goalkeeper Caitlyn Espinosa made two saves in 90 minutes defending the goal.  The Skyhawks defense only allowed seven shots (three shots on goal).
 
Shayla Malecki and Renee Terrell accounted for two shots each as six of the Skyhawks seven shots landed on goal. 
 
Fort Lewis will open the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference season Sept. 18 at Colorado State-Pueblo, followed by a match at New Mexico Highland on Sept. 20.
