SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – September 12, 2015 – California State, East Bay and California State, San Bernardino handed the Fort Lewis College volleyball team two setbacks on Saturday. FLC fell in the first match to East Bay, 3-1, followed by a 3-0 loss to host school CSUSB in the Coyote Classic.
In the opening match on Saturday against Cal State East Bay, two Skyhawks recorded double digit kills.
Matisse Monty led FLC with 11 kills to go with her .312 hitting percentage, 14 digs, five blocks, and three assists.
Maddie LeBlanc chipped in 10 kills and committed only one error on 16 attempts for a .562 hitting percentage. She also assisted on five blocks and dug up five attacks.
Kendra Swackenberg posted 18 set assists and eight digs, and
Delaney Scanlan added 17 assists and eight digs.
Ally Dell'Amico led the back row defense with 20 kills.
As a team, the Skyhawks hit .248, served two aces and accumulated 12 team blocks.
In the Skyhawks final match of the weekend, they hit .155 with 30 kills, 28 assists, three aces, 47 digs and two blocks.
Monty tallied 11 kills and
Hannah Martinez posted six kills. Swackenberg assisted on 15 kills while Dell'Amico dug up 18 attacks.
Fort Lewis (3-5) will open their Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference season at Chadron State on Friday, and at Regis University on Saturday.
