Women’s Soccer Drops 1-0 Decision at NMHU

Box Score LAS Vegas, N.M. – September 20, 2015 – The Fort Lewis College women's soccer team lost their first Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference game of the season, 1-0, Sunday afternoon at New Mexico Highlands University.  The loss moves the Skyhawks to 3-2-1 overall and 1-1-0 in league games.
 
"We let the ball bounce a lot," said head coach Jimmy Hall.  "We had some subs come in like Jenna Brown who came in and did well, and Hayley (Macomb) did well at center defense."
 
Salina Lucero scored the only goal of the game with 15 seconds left in the first half.
 
Fort Lewis was out-shot, 17-10, and 7-6 shots on goal.
 
Jordan Hix led the team with three shots.  Goalie Caitlyn Espinosa made four saves between the posts.
 
After playing their first six games on the road, the Skyhawks will open their home season this Friday and Sunday against Colorado Mesa University and Westminster College.
