Box Score BOZEMAN, Mont. – September 3, 2015 – Facing the 11
th ranked team in the Football Championship Series (FCS), the Fort Lewis College football team charted 14 points in their season opening game at Montana State University Thursday night. The Bobcats came away with a 45-14 win over the Skyhawks, charting 31 of their 45 points in the second half.
The Skyhawks defense forced the Bobcats to punt on their first four drives of the game as both teams were held scoreless in the first quarter.
Trailing 7-0 late in the second quarter, the Skyhawks failed to convert on fourth-and-six which led to a Bobcats touchdown with nine second left in the first half.
MSU notched their third score of the game on the opening drive of the second half, capping a six-play, 63-yard drive.
Fort Lewis scored their first touchdown of the game with 4:34 left in the third quarter.

Juquelle Thompson for a 23-yard score after converting on third down and 11.
MSU responded by scoring a touchdown on their next three drives.
Allen Thigpen converted on fourth down and two after rushing for seven yards on a fake punt. On the very next play, he threw a 44-yard pass to Thompson to get to the MSU 16-yard line.
PJ Hall added seven more rushing yards before Thigpen threw a nine-yard touchdown pass in the far left corner of the endzone to
Jordan Gillen, cutting the Bobcats lead to 42-14 with 6:47 left in regulation.
The Bobcats sealed the win with Luke Daly's 47-yard field with 2:39 remaining.
The Skyhawks ran the ball 45 times for 174 yards and completed 10-of-17 passes for 103 yards and two scores.
Fort Lewis possessed the ball for 30:57 but MSU converted on two Skyhawks turnovers for 14 points.
Doyle completed 8-of-14 passes for 50 yards and a passing touchdown. He was the Skyhawks second leading rusher with 58 yards on 13 carries.
Hall led the rushing game with 75 yards on 20 carries.
Thigpen caught two passes for three yards, completed 2-of-3 passes for 53 yards and a score, carried the ball five times for 29 yards, and punted the ball once for 20 yards.
Kaimon Ontiveros led the Skyhawks defense with nine tackles (five solo) and a tackle for a loss.
Daniel Walker added six tackles, five of which were solo stops.
MSU's quarterback Dakota Prukop completed 14-of-24 passes for 197 yards and two scores. He also led the MSU rushing game with 69 yards.
Fort Lewis will open their home season on Saturday, Sept. 12 against Oklahoma Panhandle State.
